Vladimir Shuppo:
Vladimir Shuppo is director of the Grand Company in the city of Novouralsk. Registered in 1992, Grand employs  15 people and specializes in telecommunications services, including developing and installing
local communication nets (50%), providing Internet access (10%), and maintaining telecommunication equipment (20%). Vladimir's responsibilities include general management, strategic planning,
financial control, personnel recruitment and management, contract negotiations with clients and suppliers, quality and safety control, new services
development, and market research. Vladimir graduated in 1980 from the Novosibirsk Electrotechnical Institute with a degree in engineering. He then went on to pursue a degree
in residential and industrial construction from 1981 to 1987 at the Novosibirsk Institute of Construction. During his tenure at OL ASU, he worked as an engineer from 1980 to
1982, as a software developer from 1982 to 1984, as a senior engineer from 1984 to 1988, and as a senior specialist for a year. Beginning in 1989 he worked at
SPAO SUS as a chief technologist, then as head of software development from 1991 to 1992. He has been employed at his current position since 1992. During his internship in the
US, Vladimir would like to learn more about personnel and business management, financial planning, pricing policy development and discounts, business ethics, new
telecommunication technologies, marketing, customer service operations, company advertising and promotion, as well as licensing and copyright. Vladimir is 42 years old
and married, with two daughters, ages 12 and 16. His hobbies include mountain skiing and auto tourism. |
